About Ann's Work
Ann is the senior member of the biology department at San Jose City College, an inner city college with a predominantly minority student population. She received her B.A. in biology from UC/Riverside, and her Masters in Environmental Biology from UC/Santa Barbara. She has worked as a field assistant and as an environmental consultant in Central and South America and the South Pacific. Ann is part of the first class of PhD students in the new Environmental Studies graduate program at UC Santa Cruz. Her research includes an exploration of farmworker funds of traditional agricultural knowledge for the purpose of developing a comprehensive management plan for the Elkhorn Slough and for culturally relevant science curriculum for farmworker children.
