About Arjun's Work

Arjun began a faculty position at Dartmouth College in July of 2000 with the goal of continuing research measuring erosion rates and linking them to natural and anthropogenic processes as well as educating new practioners of environmental science and geomorphology. Arjun decided to pursue his interest in linking science with policy through the academic path rather than political one for the time being and hopes to contribute to sound natural resource policy making. Research and teaching field sites include Nepal, Tibet, Australia, California and Oregon Coast Ranges, and southern Baja California. He moved to the new School of Earth and Space Exploration to begin a new chapter in his exploration of how the Earth's surface works. At Arizona State University he will also have a joint appointment in the School of Human Evolution and Social change, thus getting closer to integrating science with the human dimension.
