About Bailey's Work
Bailey Green (on right, in photo) is currently a Guest Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Environmental Energy Technologies Division. He is also a founding member of LBL\'s Water Energy Technology Team (WETT). Bailey is also the co-founder and President of Oswald Green, LLC, and of Oswald Engineering Associates, Inc., two associated environmental engineering and technology companies specialized in alternative energy-efficient, carbon-neutral wastewater treatment and water reclamation technologies. His research and engineering practice have focused on the development and implementation of sustainable wastewater treatment and water reclamation technologies both here in the U.S. and internationally. Bailey is a co-inventor and holds three U.S. patents including a method to establish and optimize methane fermentation in primary waste ponds; an apparatus for submerged biogas collection from primary waste ponds; and, the combination of reverse osmosis with advanced tertiary wastewater treatment to permit indefinite beneficial irrigation reuse and water recycling. His research has also advanced the bioremedation and removal of selenium and nitrate from irrigation drainage as well as the use of solar energy, microalgae and photosynthetic oxygenation to accelerate oxidation (secondary biological treatment) and nutrient removal (tertiary treatment). Bailey is optimistic about the emergence of more sustainable, more energy-efficient, more carbon-neutral water and wastewater technologies and the growing market and public demand for sustainable water technologies.
