About Becky's Work
Becky's work integrates her academic background in the natural sciences with an inclination for problem solving. By understanding how environmental and human systems fit together, she works with organizations and alongside communities to develop solutions to real-world conservation challenges. In 2012, Becky worked with the University of Vermont's Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources to design a new student-driven model for managing the University-owned Natural Areas system. Graduate and undergraduate students are now engaged in hands-on science and stewardship of UVM’s nine Natural Areas through courses, work-study, and internships. Currently, she is the Sanctuary Director for Mass Audubon's Berkshire Sanctuaries. At the heart of her work is Becky's love for the land and water that sustains us all. You can find her tromping about northern forests or paddling through New England salt marshes.
