Cybele Chang

Cybele's interest in environmental issues dates back to her teens, when she founded her highschool's first environmental association. While in college, Cybele worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a pollution prevention intern and a Superfund community relations coordinator. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, with an environmental science degree, she gained experience as an energy-efficiency consultant. Subsequently, she served as the San Francisco City Government Recycling Coordinator where Cybele ensured that over 30,000 city employees reduced their waste stream by fifty percent. Cybele is currently pursuing a master of city planning at MIT, specializing in international development and regional planning. Cybele intends to focus her studies on sustainable tourism in the Peoples Republic of China. This summer she is interning with the Center for Environmentally Sound Technology Transfer (CESTT), an advisory agency under the China Agenda 21 organization, working on sustainable tourism issues in China's biosphere reserves.
