About David's Work

David is a Professor at University of California, Hastings College of Law, teaching courses in Domestic Environmental Law, International Environmental Law, Cliate Change Law, Biodiversity Law, and Torts. His research interests include REDD+, Biodiversity Offsetting, the Public Trust Doctrine and the Human Right to Water. David was a Peace Corps forestry volunteer in Senegal, a faculty member at CSU Monterey Bay's Earth Systems Science and Policy program. He holds an LL.M. from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, a J.D. from UC Hastings, a Ph.D in Science & Technology Studies from Cornell University, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell. He is the author of "The Idea of Biodiversity" and many scholarly articles.
