About Dena's Work
Dena Adler completed a joint JD/MEM degree program at Yale Law School and Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. At Yale, Dena's research focused on galvanizing new legal opportunities to advance climate change solutions, especially by coordinating and connecting policies across local, national, and international jurisdictions. In the lead up to the 2015 international climate change negotiations, she worked with the Yale Climate Change Dialogue and the City of Paris on designing a political declaration linking mayors, governors, and other sub-national leaders to the UN's Paris Agreement. During her time in law school she worked on policy issues related to the Clean Power Plan at the Environmental Defense Fund, on legal campaigns to protect national forests and the Arctic at the Earthjustice Juneau, AK office, and with the Council on Environmental Quality in the Executive Office of the President. Prior to beginning her degrees at Yale, she worked at Union of Concerned Scientists conducting climate change outreach to citizens and scientists. Dena graduated from Brown University in 2011, with honors in environmental studies for her thesis exploring policy strategies to manage climate change impacts in the American West by framing issues to engage broader stakeholder support.
