Switzer Network Mindfulness Moment

-
Location: Online
Fellow(s): Meghna N. Marjadi

As we navigate the ever changing landscape of environmental and social justice work, it is even more important to take time to reflect and care for our minds and bodies. Mindfulness and yoga offer paths to understanding ourselves, eachother, and the world around us. Cultivating this mindset can also contribute to our ability to engage in collective action and meaningful work for the greater good.

Join Switzer Fellow Meghna Marjadi and take a short break from your work day to participate in a 30-minute movement and meditation session. To start the session, we will briefly discuss the importance of yoga and yogic values in our pursuit of justice and shared wellness. We will then connect with the present moment through easily accessible yoga asanas and seated meditation. I will demonstrate the asanas in the session on the ground and provide options for folks who would prefer to be seated on a chair.

You may attend the session from wherever you feel safe and comfortable moving your body and closing your eyes. It might be beneficial to step away from your workspace to another quiet space where you will not be bothered while you take time for yourself.

If you can't make it to this time, there will be another offering in June! You are welcome to attend just one or both sessions.
