Hafkenschiel new Transportation and Sustainability Director to Mayor of Nashville

Mayor Megan Barry announced today she has added two staffers to focus on transportation and sustainability.

Transportation and Sustainability Director Erin Hafkenschiel comes from California Environmental Associates, a San Francisco-based consultancy, according to a release. At CEA, she provided regulatory and policy analysis for clients in the freight-transportation and renewable-energy industries, and strategic planning services to environmental foundations and non-profits.

Erin Hafkenschiel is the President of ThinkTennessee, a nonpartisan, statewide, results-oriented think tank. Previously, she was the Executive Director for Mobility and Transportation at Vanderbilt University and Director of the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Sustainability for Nashville Mayors David Briley and Megan Barry. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Infrastructure Systems at Vanderbilt University.
