Hafkenshiel appointed Director of the Bay Area Council Foundation

The Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Hafkenschiel as Director of the Bay Area Council Foundation, the charitable organization founded in 2004 to fund, manage and implement initiatives that impact the entire Bay Area. A Fulbright Scholar and graduate of UC Berkeley and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Erin brings to the Council extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of community and economic development, urban planning and public and private infrastructure development.

Erin Hafkenschiel is the President of ThinkTennessee, a nonpartisan, statewide, results-oriented think tank. Previously, she was the Executive Director for Mobility and Transportation at Vanderbilt University and Director of the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Sustainability for Nashville Mayors David Briley and Megan Barry. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Infrastructure Systems at Vanderbilt University.
