Juarez co-authors Urban Planning in Mexico book

Zully Juarez co-authored the new book, Urban Planning in Mexico, with a group of urban planners via the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs Latin American Cities Initiative. She contributed to Chapter 4, for the City of Campeche. 

In the summer of 2019, Zully conducted her graduate school fieldwork in Mexico City with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy. During her time there she worked closely with city planners on how to best address pedestrian safety for youth in Mexico. In the last quarter of her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at UCLA, Zully interviewed and learned from planners in the City of Campeche as they adapted their new urban development plans along the Gulf of Mexico. 

“It was important for me to learn from the different challenges and innovative planning projects abroad - to expand my scope of knowledge and skills, especially in Latin America,” Zully shared. “Now, as the Senior Research & Policy Analyst with the Just Solutions Collective, this information is valuable to me as I continue my work in research and analysis on existing environmental policies, practices, procedures, and laws in the US.”
