Roberts-Gregory receives Vanguard Fellowship
The Green Leadership Trust has named Frances Roberts-Gregory as a 2024 Cecil Corbin-Mark Vanguard Fellow.
The Vanguard Fellowship is “a transformative program designed to nurture the next generation of environmental and conservation leaders of color. Launched in honor of the late Cecil Corbin-Mark, a stalwart in the environmental justice movement, this fellowship is more than just a learning opportunity—it's a commitment to deepening the impact of diverse voices in environmental governance.”
Dr. Frances Roberts-Gregory is a feminist political ecologist and environmental anthropologist, researching the role of U.S. Afro-diasporic communities and women of color in UNFCCC climate negotiations and feminist climate policy. She currently serves as a postdoctoral researcher at the Harvard University Center for the Environment and the Salata Institute for Climate & Sustainability.
Vanguard Fellows received six months of professional development as a peer-to-peer learning experience focused on board service for people of color. Frances will leverage her fellowship through her service on the boards of the Hive Fund for Climate & Gender Justice, HBCU Green Fund, and Feminist Agenda for a Green New Deal.
