Sonoma Creek Restoration, Year 3

To fund a portion of Lisa Micheli's staff time to devote specifically to outreach and fundraising for the restoration plans for Sonoma Creek developed thus far in the previous two years' funding.  Lisa has worked for two years on a science-based template for restoration of the Sonoma Valley watershed, "Community-based Restoration of Sonoma Creek". Lisa's role has been technical advisor, grant-writer, and mentor to junior staff and interns. At this point, the organization sees a need to devote some of Lisa's time to developing larger coalitions and alliances with other watershed groups to make more state-level funding available for implementation of the restoration program. Thus, SEC has obtained a third year of support for Lisa's position to expand SEC partnerships and funding opportunities to continue the science and restoration work. Lisa will do more outreach (talking to community groups about the restoration plans and restoration ecology) and will devote some time to exploring foundation funding opportunities and developing relationships with funders.
