About James's Work
James Liebman was a Biologist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency--Region 9 in San Francisco. He worked with the Agriculture Program on non-regulatory projects that promote and support broader implementation of sustainable agriculture. Jamie held a PhD in plant pathology from the University of California at Berkeley. Before coming to EPA in 1998, he worked on the ecology and control of fungal disease problems in a variety of California crops, as a consultant to assess alternatives to the soil fumigant methyl bromide, and as Staff Scientist at the Pesticide Action Network, a non-profit environmental organization. At EPA Jamie focused on reducing the environmental impacts of pest management, and on improving management and treatment of dairy manure.
