About Jessica's Work
Jessica Davenport supports the creation of resilient landscapes for people and nature in the San Francisco Bay Area as Deputy Program Manager for both the California State Coastal Conservancy’s Bay Area Program and the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority. Her work focuses on funding shoreline habitat restoration projects and related flood protection and public access in the San Francisco Bay Area while centering equity in the grant making process. Prior to joining the Conservancy in 2016, she promoted ecosystem restoration and wise land use as a program manager at the Delta Stewardship Council; before joining the Council, she worked on Bay-Delta water policy, climate change adaptation and wetland restoration as a planner and permit analyst at the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission. While pursuing her master's degree at Yale, Jessica received a Switzer Fellowship to study lake management in Yunnan Province, China. In 1999, she received a Switzer Leadership Grant to work at Pesticide Action Network North America (PANNA) on an effort to link organic and sustainable agriculture and farmland conservation. While at PANNA, she also promoted community-based efforts to reduce reliance on pesticides in World Bank agricultural projects in China and Mexico.
