About Jessie's Work
Jessica Levine is the Conserving Land and Water Strategy Lead for The Nature Conservancy in New England and the Coordinator of the Staying Connected Initiative, a binational landscape connectivity partnership. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Network for Landscape Conservation and the Steering Committee of the Northeastern Transportation and Wildlife Conference, and as Eastern North America lead for the IUCN’s Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group. Previously, she worked with the Quebec Centre for Biodiversity Science, fostering collaborative research and aiding in the transfer of biodiversity science into the policy and planning domains. For eight years, Jessica was an independent environmental policy and science consultant on a range of topics, including sustainable development, watershed management, biodiversity, land use, environmental justice, monitoring, and renewable energy. Her clients ranged from community based NGOs to national and international conservation/environmental organizations. Jessica has also worked in rural community development, cross-cultural education, and experiential environmental education. She holds an M.S. in Energy and Resources and an M.C.P. in City and Regional Planning, both from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University.
