About Joan's Work
Joan Heredia currently works throughout the U.S. to develop and promote renewable energy faciliites. She is the Director of Environmental Compliance and Regulatory Services at Enel Green Power North America with oversight responsibilities for 90 operating renewable energy facilities, development activities and a staff of eight environmental professionals. She has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry providing strategic and technical advice on approaches to reduce or mitigate environmental impacts and to resolve land use conflicts associated with large industrial facilities. Her years of work experience with regulatory agencies, environmental consulting firms and fortune 500 firms provides a unique perspective of all aspects of various roles in the environmental field and the ability to interface well with agencies, the public, and professional staff at all levels. Throughout her professional development she has endeavored to minimize environmental impacts associated with greenfield development, mergers and acquisitions, construction and operation at power generation facilities, pipeline projects, and large industrial facilities. Committed to reducing the effects of climate change in industrial nations. Also a local volunteer to I love a Clean San Diego a non-profit organization that seeks to reduce impacts to the environmental through community clean-ups, recycling efforts and student education.
