About Keith's Work
Keith McCoy joined Johnson Controls in January 2011 as executive director of public policy in the battery division. Keith's primary responsibility is to establish a global government interface capability to serve as the Johnson Controls Power Solutions representative to proactively shape and influence key policy actions and to build organizational capabilities to identify and prioritize issues of importance to the busness objectives. Prior to Johnson Controls Keith worked at the National Association of Manufacturers from September 1998 to December 2010. As director of environmental quality in the Resources, Environment and Regulation Policy Department. During that time, Mr. McCoy’s responsibilities included all energy and climate, hazardous waste, solid waste, water, transportation and chemical security issues. June 2005 he was promoted to the vice president of the department. Keith supervised lobbyists and support staff in policy coordination and advocacy with respect to manufacturers’ interests in Federal energy, environmental and regulatory reform issues. Mr. McCoy was also the Executive Director of the Business Network for Environmental Justice (BNEJ), a voluntary organization of business, corporations, industry trade associations, industry service providers and business groups interested in environmental justice issues. Prior to joining the NAM, Keith was the Vice President of Environment Programs at Associated Industries of Massachusetts (A.I.M.), a 7,500 member state-wide business group. Keith, an army veteran, received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, and his graduate training in Public Policy at Tufts University where he was the recipient of the Switzer Fellowship Award for environmental policy excellence.
