About Kerry's Work

Dr. Kinney's research integrates the fields of biological treatment and air pollution. Her research group has developed biological treatment systems for contaminated air streams and is currently working with collaborators to develop systems to treat the wastewater generated during oil and gas production. Her research group is also developing a molecular method to rapidly identify the key genes expressed in biodegradation processes and is applying this method to better understand and improve the performance of treatment systems. Most recently, her research group has begun investigating biological contamination in indoor environments and bioaerosol emissions.
