About Lex's Work

Lex Hovani previously worked for The Nature Conservancy's Climate Team and Indonesia Program. He is led the effort to develop a large-scale forest carbon demonstration program linking reductions in emissions from deforestation and forest degradation with carbon markets. As a student at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Yale School of Management, Lex\'s work focused on ways that capital markets can be used to finance large-scale ecological forest management, particularly in a way that benefits low-income people. Prior to graduate school, he worked as an environmental consultant, as a program director for a community development loan fund, and as an educator. He holds a B.S. in Resource Ecology from the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources.
