About Marcy's Work
Marcy's initiatives related to acid rain, river management protection, forest management and wilderness designation, work in philanthropy designing and managing a grants program, and research and writing on the field of community-based natural resource management. For the last ten years she worked on describing and advancing a model of community ownership and management of forestland which led to the formation of the Community Forest Collaborative, a partnership of four organizations designed to provide technical support and assistance to communities that want to acquire and manage forestland as a community asset. Additionally, she served as Vice-Chair of the New Hampshire Water Sustainability Commission, a commission appointed by the Governor to make recommendations on policies and programs that will ensure the sustainable management of the state's water resources.
