About Matthew's Work
As a conservation planning Project Manager on TPL’s Research and Innovation Team, Matt managed local park, trail, and open space master plans. In addition to providing overall project management, Matt regularly conducts and analyzes community engagement, performs background research on project study areas, convenes stakeholder groups, conducts on-the-ground park quality assessments, trains project partners, and prepares final reports and other deliverables. While working at TPL, Matt has managed planning projects in Texas (Houston and Austin), Maine, and Georgia.
Prior to working at TPL, Matt worked for design and planning firms in New Mexico and California. Matt also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia for two years, doing rural agricultural and forestry extension work as well public health education. Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
