About Michael's Work
Michael is an Associate Professor in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University. He also serves as a co-director of the Conservation Leadership Through Learning Program at Colorado State University (http://warnercnr.colostate.edu/cltl-home). Michael is also a resident fellow in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability at CSU, and a research associate in the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand - http://www.vuw.ac.nz/geo). His work draws on theory and methods from geography, anthropology, ecology, evolutionary biology, and economics to examine issues in biocultural conservation, cultural diversity and evolution, and ethnobiology. He and his students have conducted fieldwork in over a dozen countries.
