Olivia Fraser

Olivia is a PhD student in the Natural Resource and Earth System Sciences (NRESS) Program at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). Her dissertation research investigates changes in soil chemistry and forest productivity across the White Mountain National Forest (WMNF) in central New Hampshire using field data to validate cutting-edge remote sensing approaches. Her current research is a collaborative effort between the WMNF, Forest Service Northern Research Station, and UNH that directly informs forest monitoring, forest management, and soil quality standards. She completed a Master's in Environmental Science and Policy at Plymouth State University (PSU) creating a knowledge-based model to prioritize conservation strategies for a local land trust. She returned to New England to pursue her research interests in forest ecology after working at a regional land trust in western Colorado. Olivia is also a lecturer at Plymouth State University teaching undergraduate courses in geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing.
