About Peter's Work
Peter is currently taking a break from full time work to spend time with his family. He is self-employed as a Natural Lands Management Consultant. He remains active in the conservation world by serving on the US Fish & Wildlife Recovery team for the Channel Islands Fox and serving on the boards of several local non-profit environmental organizations. Peter's past work includes 8 years as Director of Ecological Restoration for the Catalina Island Conservancy, 6 years as manager for the State of Hawaii's Natural Area Reserve System and 9 years as preserve manager/director for the Nature Conservancy on Santa Cruz Island, CA. In all of these positions, challenges of protecting endangered plant and animal species protecting intact natural areas and restoring degraded ecosystems were juxtaposed with the threats posed by invasive species and ever expanding human population needs, wants and pressures.
