About Robert's Work

Rob continues to work as a consulting hydrogeologist. In that capacity, he addresses technical issues related to groundwater contamination and groundwater management. Rob also provides litigation consulting and expert witness testimony. In conjunction with his consulting, Rob conducts applied research and has authored papers on 1) estimation of cleanup time requirements for contaminated groundwater, 2) management of groundwater wellfield operations, 3) contamination arising from improperly constructed and operated wells, 4) addressing inequities stemming from intense groundwater pumping, and 5) performing managed aquifer recharge. Much of his work blends hydrologic and economic thinking. Rob has also guest lectured on groundwater issues at several graduate schools and taught a course on environmental site assessment for the University of California, Berkeley extension program. In addition to his technical degrees (ScB in geology/Biology, 1985; MS in Applied Hydrogeology, 1991; and PhD in Environmental and Civil Engineering, 2018), Rob received an MBA from UC Berkeley in 2003.
