Stephanie Safdi

Stephanie Safdi practices environmental, land use law, and energy law with the public interest law firm Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger, LLP in San Francisco, CA. Prior to entering private practice, Stephanie was a law clerk on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Stephanie completed a joint JD/MEM degree at the Yale Law School and Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she was co-president of the Yale Environmental Law Association, Founder and Chair of the annual New Directions in Environmental Law Conference, vice-president of the American Constitution Society, and an active member of the Lowenstein Human Rights Clinic. During law school, Stephanie was an intern with the Center for Race, Poverty, and the Environment, with the Natural Resources Defense Counsel, and with the human rights organization Timap For Justice in Sierra Leone. Prior to law school, Stephanie worked on global health policy, including as a Fulbright Fellowship in Israel focused on the Arab Bedouin community's access to health care, and completed an MPhil in history at Cambridge University in England. Stephanie received an A.B. in History and Literature from Harvard College.
