About Trish's Work
Trish has a BA in Biology, a MA in International Studies focusing on natural resources policy, and additional studies at UC Berkeley on marine resources conservation and management. She is currently the Director of the University of Oregon's Charleston Marine Life Center. Previously, she was Manager of Ocean Education at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. Earlier at the University of Oregon's Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB), Trish was Program Coordinator of OIMB's National Science Foundation Graduates in K-12 marine education program, and Senior Personnel for a NOAA/Bay-Watershed Education & Training Program. Trish has worked with a number of non-profit organizations and companies on various marine resource management and ocean education projects, both domestically and internationally. Her interests span the field of science communication and education in both informal and formal settings, with a focus on ocean and climate science communication.
