Bustos contributes to Legal Action Agenda for Climate Displacement

Camila Bustos worked with the International Refugee Assistance Project and nine other nonprofit organizations who engage in climate action and migrant and refugee advocacy to create a “legal action agenda that sets concrete steps to ensure the rights and well-being of climate-displaced people in the Americas. The recommendations aim to support climate-impacted populations who relocate across borders or are internally displaced.”

The agenda “ includes analysis and recommendations on policies that fall into five categories”:

  1. Refugee protection and non-refoulement
  2. Cross-border humanitarian frameworks
  3.  Mobility frameworks
  4. Internal displacement law and policy
  5. Resourcing the right to stay

The legal action agenda is available for download in English and en español.
