About Mara's Work

Mara Baum FAIA, LEED Fellow, WELL AP is a passionate leader committed to creating healthier, more sustainable buildings and communities.  An architect and sustainability leader with more than 20 years of experience, Mara is a partner in DIALOG’s San Francisco/Oakland studio.  A thought leader in design for health and wellness, she focuses on improving the wellbeing of the people who occupy workplaces, buildings and communities. For her, design solutions are two pronged: places that create healthier and happier people, and strategies that build or rebuild a healthier environment.  This includes a focus on indoor air quality, carbon neutrality and resilience as well as inclusive and equity-focused design practices.

An accomplished facilitator, Mara is also a public speaker, published author, WELL Faculty, and an online faculty member of the Boston Architectural College Sustainable Design Institute where she teaches Green Building and Health and Sustainable Design of Healthcare Facilities. Mara holds a Master of Architecture and Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of California Berkeley.
