About Lisa's Work

I specialize in supporting organizations focused on designing and scaling nature-based solutions that protect and enhance terrestrial and marine environments—working hand-in-hand with communities at the front lines of global change. With a background spanning applied earth science, oceanography, ecology, engineering, and environmental protection policy, I thrive working with institutions at the intersection of field science and big data. As the founding Chief Scientist and CEO of the Pepperwood Foundation, I led the launch of a model living laboratory with the California Academy of Sciences and co-founded a statewide Sentinel Site Network with the University of California. Today via my private practice, Fluid Moves, I am working with philanthropic leaders on Blue Carbon solutions to our climate crisis.
