About Enid's Work
Enid was the Executive Director of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, where she had been since 1987. In this position, she worked on federal and state policies on sustainable agriculture, and on programs such as integrating local food into the school lunch program in public schools in Vermont, providing on-farm technical assistance to organic farmers and coordinating a statewide farmers’ market association, the Vermont Farmers’ Market Collective. Enid lived on a small farmstead in Huntington, VT with her husband and two children, and assorted horses, sheep, ducks, chickens and rabbits. For fun and games, she coached field hockey at the local high school, her daughter’s soccer team, and helped lots of young kids learn to cross country ski through the Bill Koch program.
