Dobbin wins Emerging Scholars Award for Excellence in Research and Public Policy
The UC Center Sacramento announced its sixth annual Emerging Scholars Award for Excellence in Research and Public Policy. The award recognizes excellence in graduate student research with a direct impact on public policy. Recipients of the Emerging Scholars Award receive a $500 prize and deliver an invited policy lecture at the UC Center.
Kristin Dobbin won the 2020 award. She is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Group in Ecology at the University of California, Davis where her research focuses on the intersection of environmental justice and water governance. For her dissertation research, Kristin is looking at challenges and opportunities associated with California's Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) for Environmental Justice and the Human Right to Water. Prior to coming to Davis, Kristin served as Regional Water Management Coordinator at Community Water Center in Visalia. Kristin has a B.A. in Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College.
