About Kristin's Work
Kristin is an assistant professor of cooperative extension at UC Berkeley in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management focused on water justice policy and planning. A position she loves precisely because she believes that research can and should play an important role in advancing policy that empowers community water managers as leaders and experts and supports thriving, equitable and sustainable rural communities. Kristin received her PhD in the Graduate Group in Ecology at the University of California Davis in 2021. Prior to graduate school, Kristin served as Regional Water Management Coordinator at Community Water Center in Visalia, California where she worked alongside residents of the San Joaquin Valley to advance community-driven water solutions. Kristin has a B.A. in Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College, she is a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow & Graduate Research Fellow, Fulbright Fellow and Udall Scholar.
