From the Community Food Funders website:

Community Food Funders (CFF) will support the growth of an equitable, ecologically sound and sustainable food system in New York, New Jersey and southern Connecticut.

According to Kolu Zigbi of the Jessie Smith Noyes foundation, the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation and North Star Fund have come together with other philanthropic partners to put the New York metropolitan region at the forefront of other regional efforts to push for the transformation of our food system to be more grounded in ecology, equity and sustainability.

CFF will provide information, resources and networking opportunities for funders to invest strategically in growing, processing and distributing food locally.

From land use, to healthcare and economic development, almost every funder's mission is tied in some way to our food system, says Hugh Hogan, executive director of North Star Fund.
