Mulvaney finds Rocky Mountain Power's proposals in Utah would increase economic payback on solar

Dustin Mulvany recently provided analysis and testimony on behalf of the Sierra Club on Utah's net metering debate.

"Our analysis found photovoltaic net metering customers save Rocky Mountain Power $1.4 million dollars in avoided costs from energy generation, capacity values, transmission and distribution capacity values, and ancillary services values. The largely coal-fired utility claims net metering customers do not pay a fair share of the costs of grid operations and maintenance. We found their proposed policies would increase economic payback times by 1 to 6 years for solar depending on the customer class, which would significantly impact customers decisions to go solar."
