Wildlife out your Window: Timm authors book of fun animal facts

Fellow(s): Brad Timm

Brad Timm has created the new book “Wildlife Out Your Window,” an entertaining and informative guide with fascinating facts about 100 common wildlife species of the Northeastern U.S. Featured species include Blue Jay, Eastern Chipmunk, Black Bear, Bullfrog, Painted Turtle, and 95 more! Each of the 100 species has a single page devoted to them, including a photo and a bunch of interesting info, such as:

  • Blue Jay feathers aren't blue at all, they are actually brown (they look blue due to an optical illusion)
  • Wood Frogs and Spring Peepers create their own anti-freeze to survive freezing
  • Opossums carry their young (as many as 13) on their back
  • Pigeons and Mourning Doves feed their young a milk-like liquid to boost their immune system

In addition to learning about these animals, you'll learn many simple things you can do to help these amazing animals. Also included are checklists for you to keep track of the animals you see each month, and fun wildlife-related activities you can enjoy alone or with others. Whether you're an avid nature enthusiast or simply seeking to forge a deeper connection with the great outdoors, 'Wildlife Out Your Window' is an invaluable resource that will open your eyes to the incredible biodiversity thriving right in your own backyard.

You can find “Wildlife Out Your Window” on Amazon and from the homepage of the Northeast Wildlife Team.
