About Isaac's Work
Isaac is an environmental attorney and organizer working with Sierra Watch to fight irresponsible development proposals in the Sierra Nevada, notably a proposal to more than triple the number of condos and build a massive indoor recreation center (including a water park, arcade, and bowling alleys) in the Village at Squaw Valley. He grew up in the Placer County Foothills where a childhood spent exploring the nearby rivers, forests, and mountains instilled a lasting appreciation for the Sierra Nevada, and natural beauty wherever it is found. A veteran of multiple environmental campaigns Isaac’s past jobs include legal clerkships with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Natural Resources Defense Council, consultant to the Climate and Air program at Environmental Defense Fund, and an advocate and organizer for Environment America. In his current position as Sierra Watch Staff Attorney Isaac is particularly focused on strategic litigation to help create space for sound environmental decisionmaking. He holds a degree in Environmental Analysis from Pomona College and a JD from UCLA School of Law. When he is not working you’ll probably find him in the mountains, hiking, climbing, riding his bike, or snowboarding.
