Protecting the character and biodiversity of the Sierra Nevada region
Sierra Watch received a $40,000 Leadership Grant to hire Isaac Silverman as its Staff Attorney. Isaac, a graduate of UCLA School of Law and native of the Sierra Nevada region, will be charged with legal review and guidance on Sierra Watch’s conservation campaign to protect the iconic Squaw Valley region, which is under a development threat of unprecedented scale and scope. He has been hired at a critical time in the permitting process for the Squaw Valley campaign and will work closely with partners and other San Francisco-based land use lawyers on legal analysis and any litigation that might arise. Isaac will also work on other ongoing Sierra Watch campaigns, providing guidance and legal oversight. In addition to his legal responsibilities, Isaac will engage in outreach and advocacy efforts, and will be an integral part of the strategic planning process of the organization.
