Fulweiler TEDx Talk promotes expanding coastal ocean research through sensors
Robinson (Wally) Fulweiler presented Coastal Ocean's bold vision for conducting ocean science in a talk at TEDx Boston.
The coastal ocean is essential to the well-being and long-term sustainability of humanity, yet our scientific knowledge on coastal ecosystems falls short. Coastal Ocean is calling for a new model that addresses social, economic, political, and logistical factors that impede participation in coastal investigations and stewardship. Their aim is to produce a science research model that increases access to coastal ocean science through instruments and community relationships. Their new model will build on familiar tenets of the share economy developed to respond to the needs of coastal ocean research and science.
